After learning the ropes of the industry and building relationships along the way I transitioned to the development team. Houdini Tools

Bridge Generator

This HDA creates a bridge from a user defined splined with user controlled parameters.

Parameter Breakdown:

Planks:

  • Plank Amount: Controls number of planks on the bridge
  • Plank Multiplier: Gives finer control over adding the number of planks.
  • Plank Width: Adjusts the width of the planks

Rails:

  • Handrail Amount: Adjusts the number of handrail poles.
  • Handrail Length: Controls the length of the handrails
  • Toggle Handrail Ends: Removes or adds the ends of handrails to help connect different bridges.
  • Toggle Rails: Toggles the visibility of the handrails.

Struts

  • Strut Amount:Adjusts the number of handrail poles.
  • Strut Width: Adjusts the width of the struts
  • Strut Pole Length: Adjusts the width of the struts
  • Toggle Strut Ends: Removes or adds the ends of struts to help connect different bridges
  • Struts Adjustments: Fine tunes the position of status and the strut poles
  • Strut Pole Origin:Only adjusts the strut poles

Unreal Workflow:

  • Connect the Houdini engine in the unreal engine to be able to work with the Houdini digital asset.
  • Drag and drop the HDA from the content browser into the scene
  • Manipulate the curve to the desired shape.
  • Configure the bridge parameters.

Fence Generator

This HDA creates a fence from a user defined splined with user controlled parameters.

Parameter Breakdown:

General Parameters:

Num of Supports: Controls the amount of support poles are on the fence

Rail Separation: Adjusts the space between the rails

Number of Rails: Controls the number of rails on the fence. There will always be at least one rail.

Support Length: Changes the height of the supports.

Stair Generator

This HDA creates stairs from a user defined splined with user controlled parameters.

General Parameters:

Stair Amount: Controls the number of stairs

Stair Width: Controls the entire width of the stair mesh

Stair Depth: Adjusts the depth of each individual stair step

Guard Width: Changes the width of the guards

Guard Depth: Changes the depth of the guards which is related to the height of the guards.
